We are adding new metro lines to Istanbul’s network, reorganizing streets and intersections, and implementing hundreds of projects to ease traffic and improve accessibility via public transportation. Additionally, we are rapidly completing our ongoing projects to make transportation more convenient for everyone.

M5 Sancaktepe Metro Line

Restarting Halted Metro Projects

Before 2019, several metro projects were halted due to financing or project-related issues. We resumed these projects by securing the necessary funding and redesigning problematic plans. By restarting construction on these metro lines, we have completed and opened new metro projects that make transportation in Istanbul easier and more efficient.

Continuing Our Metro Projects

We are accelerating the construction of ongoing metro projects, offering a solution to Istanbul's traffic problems through rail systems. From Sancaktepe to Halkalı and from Bahçeşehir to Kaynarca, we are conducting metro works simultaneously on both the European and Asian sides of the city.

Bringing the HızRay Project to Life

We are implementing the HızRay project, connecting Istanbul from one end to the other. Spanning 74.5 kilometers, HızRay will start from Beylikdüzü and extend to Sabiha Gökçen Airport. With 13 stations and 20 integration points connecting to other lines, the project will significantly ease transportation in Istanbul, making traveling faster and safer to numerous locations across the city.

Producing Our Own Metro Vehicles

Through the TRAM34 project, belonging to İBB Metro Istanbul, we are beginning to produce 100% Istanbul-made metro vehicles. The project, entirely owned by Metro Istanbul in terms of engineering, design, and industrial aspects, will ensure that 60% of the vehicles are locally manufactured. TRAM34 will be the first rail system vehicle in Türkiye with this level of local production.

Beylikdüzü Metrobus Line

Strengthening the Metrobus Line

The metrobus line, one of Istanbul's busiest and most critical transportation networks, has been strengthened with the addition of new buses to the fleet. Using our own resources, we purchased 252 high-capacity metrobuses for the city.

In addition to expanding the fleet, we are also renewing metrobus roads using white road concrete paving technology, increasing durability and comfort. Thanks to this technology, applied over a stretch of 64.1 kilometers, the lifespan of metrobus roads will extend to 21 years.

New IMM Bus Fleet

Renewing Our Bus Fleet

We are rejuvenating our İETT and Private Public Buses, making our bus fleet more modern and comfortable. By utilizing our own resources, we have added 293 new buses to the İETT fleet. Additionally, we are renewing the Private Public Buses that have transitioned to İETT's authority. Between 2023 and 2024, we have renewed 446 buses, including 191 brand-new vehicles, and incorporated them into our fleet.

Moreover, we have introduced new routes and additional services in several districts, including Üsküdar, Avcılar, and Kartal, to enhance public transportation.

Preserving the Historic Haliç Shipyard

We have taken ownership of the Haliç Shipyard, the world's oldest operational shipyard. At our shipyard, we restored ships and introduced Sea Taxis and Sea Ferries, designed by the Istanbul City Lines, to the city. Additionally, Haliç Shipyard has become home to Istanbul Sanat, one of the city's new cultural and artistic spaces, now open to the public.

We Produced Our Sea Taxis

We have achieved many firsts with our Sea Taxis, produced by İBB City Lines at the Haliç Shipyard. Among these, the most notable is the introduction of the first electric boat used in Istanbul's maritime transportation, produced at the Haliç Shipyard. Currently, we are operating 50 Sea Taxis, 5 of which are electric-hybrid vehicles.

With a capacity of 10 passengers, our Sea Taxis operate 24/7, offering continuous service. You can access and use our Sea Taxis by downloading the İBB Sea Taxi application.

We Introduced Sea Ferries to Istanbul

Following the high demand for our Sea Taxis, we achieved another milestone with İBB City Lines by producing and launching Sea Ferries. Built at the Haliç Shipyard, our Sea Ferries have a 33-passenger capacity. They are designed to be low-emission, stroller- and wheelchair-accessible, and environmentally friendly.

Initially operating on less crowded and shorter routes in maritime public transportation, the Sea Ferries currently serve routes such as İstinye-Küçüksu and Beykoz-Sarıyer. You can access and use the Sea Ferry service by downloading the İBB Sea Taxi application.

Street and Intersection Improvements

With an investment of 9 billion TL in transportation solutions, we conducted analyses of congested areas in traffic and developed projects to alleviate bottlenecks. By completing 244 intersections and 364 streets, we have modernized streets, intersections, and avenues to align with Istanbul's identity while addressing traffic challenges. We have eliminated chronic issues and provided solutions to ease critical congestion points in Istanbul's traffic. Upon completion of ongoing projects on 9 intersections and 9 streets, we aim to further alleviate traffic and reduce travel times in the city.

Increasing the Number and Capacity of ISPARK Parking Lots

Increasing the Number and Capacity of ISPARK Parking Lots

We have ushered in a new era for ISPARK, enhancing the quality and quantity of our parking lots. The number of parking lot locations increased from 759 to 1,042, while the vehicle capacity rose from 97,157 to 126,888.

In addition to technological innovations, we have constructed environmentally friendly parking lots designed with green spaces on top and parking areas underneath, reducing the visual impact of vehicles while creating new social spaces for Istanbul residents. We also introduced the Park-and-Ride Parking Lots, a system integrated with public transportation to encourage efficient city travel.

With the implementation of a card payment system, we are providing quality, fast, and secure service to users.

For the first time, women employees are now part of our ISPARK team, marking a significant milestone. Emphasizing technology, we continue to improve our parking lots to meet modern needs. Additionally, we are rolling out AC and DC electric charging stations in the initial phase at barrier-controlled parking lots, offering service to Istanbul residents who use electric vehicles.
